“We thought of it as a space for community life as an extension of the grandstand, explains Maxime Couston. There will be a reception, a kitchen, toilets and a space of 110 m2 for festive times. We know that rugby organizes receptions after each match, but it will also be possible for other associations to use this space by booking with the municipal services.“
The project, presented a few years ago, has been delayed, but the plans are now complete, and work should begin in September. “It takes between 8 months and 1 year. We can already announce that for the 2023-2024 season, the RCBM will have a new clubhouse“, specifies Maxime Couston. Cost of the operations: 265,000 €. The town hall finances up to 30% of the project and receives subsidies within the framework of the policy of the city and the Region.
A first step
“Sport has an important social and unifying aspect. This new room will allow greater influence and will be the first step in improving the Saint-Exupéry complex.“, continues the elected official. Secondly, the town hall plans to secure the stand, which is too often the victim of damage. The latter should therefore be provided with new security barriers preventing intruders from settling there outside matches. .
“The construction of a new clubhouse will lead to the destruction of the current one, also confides Maxime Couston.
