A vintage, streetwear and “upcycling” clothing store is entering parchment street under the name “9D”.
Saturday, July 18, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., the store opening event will take place with a vernissage, a temporary tattoo parlor and a DJ who will be present during the day to promote the opening.
At the origin of this project, 5 friends: Enzo who is a photo model, Guillaume studying insurance, Arthur team member in a fast food restaurant, Fabien studying computer engineering and Dido who works in several shoe shops in Paris, took the initiative to open the first vintage store in Angers, open to all. “There was a lack of a shop where you can find vintage clothes, collectibles, sneakers and customized pieces, which is why we decided to establish ourselves here,” says Enzo. This is an independent boutique, in which the articles of the 5 clothing brands they have created will be sold.
Big fans of Anglo-Saxon vintage culture, the goal is to bring it back to Angers. “Vintage represents clothes from old collections that are more produced today, but in new condition, we also speak of ‘deadstock’” they explain, unlike thrift stores that sell second-hand clothes of all kinds, including used items. Behind these clothes that will be on sale, a research work piece by piece is established to find the rare pearls. The objective of their project is also to make this store a place of meeting and events of all kinds. “Upcycling” will also be part of the work of Arthur and Dido. “It’s about recreating new pieces with old clothes or textiles that are no longer used while leaving room for our creativity to produce unique pieces,” explains Dido.
They called on their creativity to convey the “street” and vintage spirit through the decoration of the place as well as on an artist who created a fresco which adorns one of the walls of the shop. It is after 3 and a half months of rehabilitation work on the premises located at 9D rue parcheminerie that the store opens its doors this weekend and will be open from Wednesday to Saturday all year round.
