Robert Hébras is the last survivor of the Oradour-sur-Glane massacre. Today, he publishes with his granddaughter “The Last Witness of Oradour-sur-Glane”, a book in which they recount the horror perpetrated by the SS Das Reich division on June 10, 1944 in the middle of World War II. So just 19 years old, this inhabitant of the small village of Nouvelle-Aquitaine remembers these massacres with still as many emotions: “I kept everything. The Germans arrived at 2 p.m., they gathered the population on the square , they separated the women and children. The men were put on the sidewalk opposite. We weren’t too worried at the start” recalls one of the 6 survivors of Oradour-sur-Glane who miraculously came out, buried under the corpses. Robert Hébras and his granddaughter Agathe return to this tragedy to shed light on this part of the story and pay a final tribute to the victims.
