Shmyhal announced Ukraine’s accession to the single euro payment area

In the summer of 2022, Ukraine may join SEPA, a single zone where there are no differences between domestic and international payments in euros. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on May 24 on Telegram.
“Ukraine plans to soon join the EU roaming space and the single payment area in the European currency SEPA. […] The second may happen in the summer and will allow transfers in euros without any commissions,” he wrote.

Shmyhal explained that joining the EU roaming space “will allow making calls between the EU and Ukraine without additional costs, and will also allow Ukrainians to use mobile Internet at home rates.”
