Schroeder was officially nominated to the board of directors of Gazprom

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has been formally nominated to the board of directors of the Russian state company Gazprom.

About this, as writes “European truth”, reports Spiegel.

Schroeder’s nomination was reported in Gazprom itself. Schroeder did not comment on the information on Tuesday.

Just last week, Gerhard Schroeder resigned as head of the board of directors of the Russian state company Rosneft.

Schroeder said “the impossibility of extending his powers on the board of directors of the company.” He has led the board of directors of Rosneft since 2007.

Schroeder’s nomination to the board of directors of Gazprom was reported back in February.

As you know, on May 19, the European Parliament called on the EU to impose sanctions against Schroeder and former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, who has been on the supervisory board of Rosneft since last year.
