LAVAL, QC, June 16, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ – After 2 years of postponement, it is with excitement that Laval, fiery host city of the 55^e Final of the Jeux du Qubec, reserves a warm welcome to the 130,000 visitors expected from July 22nd to 30th. The competitions will be held at 14 sites equipped with sports infrastructure that will surely impress the 3,300 young athletes from across the province as well as their coaches and support staff. Organizations and volunteers are fully mobilized to receive athletes and spectators alike, who will be able to celebrate the Games while taking advantage of the rich sports and cultural program offered by the City and the event’s Organizing Committee.

This summer, live to the rhythm of the Quebec Games

Enjoying free access to all competition sites, spectators are invited in large numbers to celebrate the sporting and personal accomplishments of the best young athletes in Qubec. From July 22 to 26, place on the first block, with athletics, basketball, baseball, swimming, beach volleyball and cycling. The second block, to be held July 26-30, will feature young athletes competing in golf, soccer, softball, archery, triathlon, mountain biking and volleyball. Spectators are also invited to live the full experience by attending the opening or closing ceremonies on July 22nd and 30th at Place Bell.

We are preparing quite a show for the athletes and the spectators! They are preparing to experience a small-scale reproduction of ceremonies similar to those of the Olympic Games. Everyone is throbbing

To make the experience even more entertaining for participants and spectators, the City of Laval will offer a host of free cultural activities and events at several competition sites. Everyone will be able to enjoy wacky activities, performances by chassiers, bicycle numbers, percussion and dance, the Bibliomobile, board games, technological activities by the Studio mobile des Bibliothques de Laval, an exhibition on physical activity set up by the Armand-Frappier Museum, performances on public pianos, a series of reports on athletes by young reporters, and more.

• Among the legacies, let’s highlight the new athletics track at the Stade Claude-Ferragne, in Odysse-des-Jeunes school-parkthe development of 8 new outdoor volleyball courts at the Center sportif Bois-de-Boulogne as well as the upgrading of 3 baseball courts, 2 softball courts and the archery field at Parc Lvis-Paquette.
• The arrival of this major event also made it possible to support sports organizations thanks to a recovery plan for Laval sports associations and clubs and the Propulse l’espoir program put forward to promote the development of Laval athletes at the Final of the Quebec Games.
• In total, the event should generate more than $12 million in economic spinoffs for the region.
