The Congolese Olympic Committee (COC) organized a refresher seminar for coaches and national technical directors (DTN) of all federations of sports practiced in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) focusing on new approaches and methods related to new sports science technologies. It was in its headquarters in the commune of Gombe.
It was clearly a question of equipping them in these areas to hope to increase their performance as well as that of the athletes for future competitions. Overall, the COC Executive Committee is satisfied with this training because it is now time to do things differently, having noted the weaknesses that mean that there are not always expected results.
For Alain Badiashile Kayatshi, Secretary General of the COC, this is a breath of fresh air in the entire national sports movement. An evaluation will obviously be made in collaboration with the federations to see if this new approach has really been put into practice and what more needs to be done for the next improvements. And all this will be done before the participation of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the next African Youth Games which will take place this year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
