Air Liquide and Groupe ADP have the ambition to create the first joint venture to support the development of hydrogen infrastructure in airports. With this project to create the first engineering joint venture specializing in supporting airports for their projects to integrate hydrogen into their infrastructures, Air Liquide and Groupe ADP are strengthening their collaboration.

This announcement follows on from a memorandum of understanding signed in 2021 and relating to feasibility studies to support the arrival of hydrogen aircraft. This partnership project reflects the common ambition of the two groups to prepare, as of today, the deployment of a carbon-free global aviation.

The mission of the joint venture, owned 50-50 by the two groups, will be to offer a range of services and engineering in France and internationally to support airports in their transition to hydrogen.

Taking into account an objective of commissioning the first hydrogen-powered airliners by 2035, the organization of airports must be rethought today, in particular to integrate the problem of the supply of liquid hydrogen, and make it possible to offer other ground mobility uses, whether heavy mobility or runway assistance vehicles.
